Magnaflow: 11" DIDO vs. 18" SIDO

I currently have a Magnaflow bolt-on system #15749. It uses an 18" SIDO muffler. I am looking for some more sound, while keeping the same tone and performance of what I have now. I am looking to replace the muffler with an 11" DIDO muffler and use my existing tailpipes. Would this be a noticeable difference in sound? Would the true dual setup make the muffler louder or quieter? How would this sound (as far as loudness) to a standard 40-series Flowmaster? Part number on the muffler I'm thinking of is 14379. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I went ahead and gave the go-ahead to the exhaust shop today. They are ordering the muffler and I should have it put on by Tuesday or Wednesday. Part number is 14378. Anyone everused one of these? I'm hoping that between being set up true dual style, and a muffler 7" shorter, I should get what I'm looking for.

I'm going tomorrow to get it put on. I was hoping someone else had already done this with good results, but I guess I'll be the first. Stay tuned.

Yes there will be a noticeable difference in terms of sound with the shorter muffler.

You should be happy with your change
