You are talking about two totally different things with the y and x pipe options. With the y-pipe option, you are feeding both of your pipes into one, most likely larger pipe at or right before the muffler. This way is fine if you do a single input and dual output muffler with the tailpipes exiting the rear.

The better option for you, since it sounds like you're looking for performance, is the x pipe (if you are trying to decide between just the y-pipe and the x-pipe). This gives you the "true dual" performance while "balancing" the exhaust. From my experience with Mustangs and even a few trucks, the x-pipe is going to give you a real aggressive sound and better performance than the y-pipe that I explained above.

My personal advice is to do a true dual system since, with a supercharger, it doesn't sound like you're too worried about a warranty. This is going to give you pipes directly to the rear of the truck on both sides of the truck. These pipes will not connect in any way, and in my opinion is the best for your aggressive taste.

Good luck, hope this is helpful..._motes

Duals with an x-pipe if you've got a blower.

A y-pipe (single outlet) if you don't end up with a supercharger.
