Drone with magnaflow 16612!?!?

Ok, so a lot of people on this site say they have zero or next to zero drone form the Magnaflow exhaust. I do have a noticable and kinda loud drone on my 2006 SCAB Lariat with the 16612. I never heard the stock exhaust, now I am afraid of getting a ticket because the cops around here are super picky (they put up signs on the major roads stating: "RBPD tickets for loud mufflers, police ahead, last turn off" really, no joke, thats the signs).
So, I was wondering, my exhaust is a lot louder both inside the cab and outside of the truck, especially at 1800 RPM than I thought it was going to be, could it be an installation issue? I had it put on at a Midas here locally and I believe they welded it as requested (I haven't crawled under the truck yet to verify), what could it be? Can it be easily fixed at the shop or would pipes have to be replaced?
Thanks in advance.

Hi.
My 24" catback does it too. After a LOT of research, I ended up Dynamatting the entire cab. Result: drone is gone - at least, I can't hear it anymore
.
I tried a chitload of things - different mufflers, different mounting schemes, a Y-pipe, resonator (Helmholtz), etc ... nothing seemed to help.
I've found the 1700-1900 rev range to be the natural resonant frequency for the F150 exhaust, pretty much regardless of year - perhaps it's the nature of the modular V8 exhaust pulses...
Cheers

I have no drone whatsoever with my MagnaFlow system. All I hear is a nice little rumble at idle, a perfect snarl under acceleration, and nice throaty purr when rolling along at cruising speed -- exactly what I was hoping for with my aftermarket exhaust!
Why would you install an aftermarket system if you didn't want to hear it a little bit?

You should give Troyer a call and see what they say.. They're site gives me the impression that the Magnaflow system is near stock quiet.

just wondering if anyone had any experience with 14" magnaflows, drone, no drone.

Tell your Cops to Eat Chit and Die, from one to another
I will worry about loud pipes, when Harleys get mufflers.
In AZ, the Harleys are so loud it's nuts, well over 125db.
But we have bigger fish to fry then chace loud motorists

BTW, knock down their ridiculous signs too.

Now I've got a Maggie, not a 16612 though. I used the Flowmaster pipes and swapped in a 12198 (3"/2.5" dual). With that said, I would think mine is a little louder since it's dual out, but that's all subjective to who's hearing it. It does have a slight drone, but it's not annoying to me. In fact, I don't really notice it so much anymore. I know it's there, but it doesn't stand out like it did when it was new to me. Nick, as was said before, you might try a 24". The case is not only longer, but it's also a little wider so it may deepen the sound and make it drone a little bit less (as per your ear).
