I have an 98 F 150 with that damn 4.2 in it and i wanna put some exhaust on it. Whats gunna be the loudest with a decent tone?

 

Probably flowmaster, but do more of a search because this topic is fairly common. Cheapest way is straight pipe(s), and i'll bet loudest.

 

Agreed! Flowmaster 40 series mufflers or even glasspacks if you want loud!
If your looking at Magnaflow, you could go with there glasspack resonators or a 4" round style muffler for control but still very notcieable -op-

 

Look at troyer;s site, he has a setup for that truck that duals from the muffler and with shipping its only like $260

 

i tried glasspacks when i first got the truck and they pop too much when you de-accelerate. i went and put a Vortex Classic on it and it sounds good but its just not as loud, im thinkin about getting some pipe from the hardware store and welding some straight pipes.

 

Get the flowmaster 40 series.

 

If you just want loud look at the Flowmaster 40's or IMCO extreme and have 'em put on at a local shop. Or heck, straight pipes or even glass packs, not my taste, but they sure are loud.

 

yeah i think this summer im gunna check out some straight pipes unless i get a new truck.
