my 92 I6 exhaust manifold was a split style manifold from the factory. three pipes into one and then into a single collector. i saw trucks where the collector was cut off and two seperate pipes were welded in and ran out the back as straight pipes. very loud but had that odd 6cyl. sound.

Mac used to have a nice header for this engine. Check with them. Otherwise, Clifford still makes headers, and other performace equipment for the 300-6.

This site is great. They will send you a free catalog for your specific model Ford. In their catalog, they sell HEDMAN Headers. They have the 300 as a choice. $269. However, I have been told that the stock split manifold is already darn close to working like real headers due to the split. Two weekends ago I took on the challenge to install an exhaust/intake manifold gasket. It took me almost every hour of my weekend. If you can avoid messing with that area, I would recommend it. I got it all back together perfectly in time for the Monday morning commute.
