I have a 2000 F-150 with the 5.4. I was always envious of the Dodge guys cuz they're trucks sounded better (stock). I spent $90 on a Flowmaster exhaust, and I'm happy now. There are several brands of exhaust systems, just find one in your area, and discuss how low ya want your truck to sound with the mechanic.

I think Magnaflow is the way to go without a doubt. It is a very aggressive, deep tone that rumbles and sounds badass. It also doesn't drone and drive you nuts inside the cab either.

The only way you're gonna get that Mustang type rumble is with a flowmaster system. I've had a couple stangs myself and there is nothing out there to replicate the sound but flowmaster, everything else pales in comparison

What about using the same mufflers that come stock on the Mustang GT?

Flowmaster definatly, and Reloader had a pretty good thought with adding stang mufflers or mufflers meant for a stang.

i got this...
first.. get you some MIL elimators.. these make your trucks computer think you still have catalatic converters.. you need these cause your gonna cut them off.. lol.. hope you or a buddy can weld cause you may have a hard time getting a muffler shop to take the cats out w/o replacing them.. then if you are good. connect the two pipes, ie make an "H" pipe.. then go with the 2 chambered flows.. o and use larger pipe from the mufflers back.. like 2.5 inch pipe

Stock exhaust tubing is already 2.5", and you don't need to go any larger than that on a dual system. And a Origknal 40 Series will make it sound much like a Mustang, even with the cats.

my buddies had a 99 f150 and he made it have true duals. He cut the pipes right at the manifolds before they connect something like that and you will have to put a x pipe on it and that will give you a much better sound. Midas put the exhaust on and it sounded great. good luck!!!
