What type do you all suggest. Where to get? Cat back or muffler? Duels out the back would be nice. Can I buy and take to local muffler shop? I'm in DFW area. Any feed back would be greatly appreciated.

Ha... Just posted this on another thread...

This is what I'll be doing very soon on my '06 5.4L Screw. It isn't the duals out the back but Lightning style in front of right rear wheel.

Magnaflow for 2005 4.6L/5.4L V-8, F-150 Light Duty, SC/SB, dual same side exit in front of tire.

Part #M/F16617 4Wheelparts.com - $469.00 SAVE $50.00 on purchase and another $50 on install if you can take it there.

This will fit on your 2004 as well...

If you are out in the Burleson area at all, you might check with Terry's Wheel and Tire. They installed a Flowmaster 40 SIDO for $225. They had Magnaflow but at a higher price. I am very happy with their installation and the sound. Nice throaty sound when accelerating and no highway drone.

I am not sure what the point of getting an entire cat back system is... I dont want to have to polishe the muffler and tips every time I wash my truck. I suppose if your in a rainy or sandy area, the stainless would be benificial. I just bought an 18" magnaflow muffler only online (70bux) and took it to a muffler shop and they installed it and cut my exsisting pipe off at the axle for 50 bux... May have charged another 50-75 for duals... I like saving as much money as I can... Just my .02...

We put a cat back system from Flowmaster on my dad's '04 FX4 F-150. It is great! The whole system installs just behind the Y-pipe and even uses factory brackets. It is one muffler with single in and dual out. They offer side exit or rear exit (we went with side exit as it looks more classy) and it was easy to install. The only thing that needs cleaning is the stainless steel tips that are included. It has a nice throaty sound when accelerating but cruises quiet.
