My friend just had the shop pull his off both sides and replace them because he had some rusted and broke off inside. They replaced all bolts and gaskets. Charged around $700 for labor and parts warranty covered all but $199, he was lucky I have the same problem but am not sure I know how to remove the brokem bolts inside the block? any help or comments greatly appreciated.

those bolts that are broken are most likely broken because the manifolds warped, if you don't beleave me try to line up the bolt holes to the head, put the spreader in and they crack, they will not be flat either. then a few of the bolts not broken off are stretched and will break as you remove them, heat head with a torch in bolt area carefully usually gets them out. I weld a nut to what is left of the broken bolt in head, let bolt cool them lightly heat head and ease bolt out. Some go easy, others not so. The after market manifolds have been doing good for my shop with large cost savings

just found out the manifolds are covered on my warranty(not ford) if they are warped so the chance they are warped is it pretty good you said? They will send an inspector to look so this could save me a bundle. I just know its been ticking since I bout it that has been 7,000 miles. So I am just seeing if anyone can tell me what the chances are that its warped. Please reply so I know if I should chance taking it to the ford garage. Thanks to all and coryrhonda thanks
