05 SCrew 4.6L Magnaflow Installed - Review...

Overall I am pleased with my new mod. I had my 18" Magnaflow installed today and had them cut off the stock pipe after the axle... Weather turned bad, so I didnt want tot mess with installing it myself. It sounds really deep and mellow. Its not too aggresive at all. I was hoping to hear it a little more at idle as it is nearly silent. At take off, it sounds good and WOT sounds good... I can hear it in the cab, but sounds very deep and actually sounds good... I didn't want it obnoxious, so overall I am pleased!!!

Had a better chance to hear my exhaust today... I had the wife get in it and drive while I listened outside the truck... I start up, it sounds awesome!! Low rumble idle then at take off to WOT it is really deep and mean sounding without being overly aggresive! I think I will like it even though it isnt as loud as I was planning... As for performance, there MAY be a little better throttle response if any. No loss of power that I have noticed... I will be very pleased with it I am sure... I was starting to question if I should return it for a 14" last night, but now that I have heard someone else drive it, theres no way!! It sounds very good.

I'm glad the Maggie is working out for you. I myself just bought a Magnaflow. Part # 11366. Its a si/so 4x9x11. Yes, 11in. body. The sound is absolutely awesome. Had it welded to the stock piping and added a SS rolled tip exiting the stock location. I've had a Flowmaster 40 si/so and even tried a straight pipe for a few days. In my opinion, nothing sounds more pleasing to the ear than a Magnaflow.

Ggve it a couple hundred miles...It'll open up on idle a little. Drop in a K&N and you'll get a bit better throttle reponse--CAI if you want to drop the dough and see better results--otherwise pull the restictor and drop in a K&N cone.

It will get louder as the packing breaks in. Mine got a lot louder when I added my tuner. More power=more sound!
