More power...more sound

I was wondering if i gutted my catalytic converters would make my borla cat-back exhaust louder? If i cut everything out of them or if I just shoved a pipe through it, so its like basically not having them. How much louder would it make it and how much power would it add? I am mainly going for sound.

You may get some more sound, but you will lose low end power. If that matters to you then I wouldn't do it.

On my previous truck, 2002 Chevy Silverado, I gutted the cat and got a deeper tone. I also got a check engine light, and headaches from the exhaust fumes that were no longer being caught up in the catalytic converter. If its more sound you want, different exhaust set up. I've heard many borla systems and love the sounds they produce. Either way, it'll be worth it in the long run to leave your cats alone.
