What Muffler should I get for a 4.6L engine?

I have a 2WD 2001 F150 supercrew, with a 4.6L engine. I was just wandering what kinda of mufflers people recomend for this truck? Also how much do they run? Thanks
Mike

What kinda sound do you want from your truck? obnoxiously loud, mellow, more into performance than sound, etc...

With that said, I run Magnaflow on my 4.6 and like it very much. When idling just slightly louder than stock, very little cabin drone when at cruisin' speed, but you know its not stock when you get on it. Is said to be pretty good at not losing low end, like Flowmaster and IMCO.

You could always just go straight pipes too...

As for price, you can get Flowmaster around here anywhere from 250 - 400, IMCO about the same, I paid 450 for my Magnaflow #16616 SI/DO(lightning style) cat-back installed.

There are so many more exhaust choices like bassani, borla, gibson, thats all I can think of at the moment. I don't know to much about those, Flowmaster, IMCO, and Magnaflow are the most used I think.

You're not gonna loose any low end torque with flowmaster or Imco, that is a myth. (they may as well do a show on myth busters)

The 4.6 sounds great with lots of combos. A lot of us are flowmaster fans, some Imco fans, and some magnaflow fans (as well as Borla, dynomax, etc....)

The flowmaster name is synominal with sound, performance and style. Some of the baddest drag cars on earth run flowmaster.

Magnaflow has become well known for its full stainless system. Unless you're in a high salt content, I don't really see it monitarily reasonable. Again, on some bad azz drag cars.

Borla is well known for being expensive as chit!

Dynomax is a cheaper entry kit.
