Dual Flowmasters?

I need some help, I just got a 2005 ford f-150 and need to know what type of exhaust i should get, I want a nice deep sound and increased performance. I had a single flowmaster on my previous truck and liked it very much and was wondering if i should step it up to the dual exhaust and if so which ones? Is dual a lot better than single? Do CAT back? Any suggestions? Thanks.

You'll get a little better performance and a lot more noise, stick with the SIDO.

SI/DO
stands for Single Inlet, Dual outlet! You may gain performance but I got si/do flowmaster orginal 40 on my 05 f150 and lost low end torque!

You can add the true duals and maintain the same level of sound just by the muffler you select. For instance, if you used the flowmaster delta 50 on your last truck, try duals with flowmaster 50 SUV series. They are quieter, but with duals should sound similiar, but now breathing fire through a pair of pipes.

And, as usual, there is no low end torque lost with flowmaster when properly built. After a dyno run, I showed max TQ by 2200rpm and maintained it all the way to 4200 RPM. I ran some numbers on my data tool today. I show an average 50#tq at idle. I had 150# at 1200rpm in second gear at about 20mph. There is no loss.....

I've just installed a Dynomax system that is a SIDO, and it has the same if not better throaty sound as the Flowmaster for half the cost. It's available through NAPA and NAPA online. Cost was around $220.00 for the muffler and pipes.

If I go with the SIDO can my spare tire still stay under the truck? Because I know on me last truck(dodge) I had to remove my spare tire in order to have dual.

Talking Watch your brake lines.

Your tire will be fine. Just make sure the brake lines on the drivers side rear are off the pipes. Mine were not but a single zip tie fixed that. Damn muffler shop mechanics (hacks I say). They're just jealous of a truck this pretty!

Vegasfordman, I used to have one SI/DO flowmaster 40 series on my old truck, and just got dual SI/SO flowmaster 40 series put on my new truck. Dual is the way to go from what I can tell in the difference to my ears and foot. Here's what I wrote about in another forum https://www.f150online.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=227468

I just put on a Flowmaster SIDO 40 series. Have no power loss at all. More power under certain conditions. Sounds good.
