What is the best complete exhaust system for a Mark LT 4x4 which is the same car as a F-150 supercrew 4X4, as far as performance and sound. I would really like to have it as loud as possible and give the best performance. A lot of people says that Dynatech long headers with silver bullets are one of the best combinations for real hp gains and sound.

i'm not using headers on my 04 van but true duals- ss 2.25 piping , 2-4x9x14 magnaflows, x pipe- i'm going 2.25- for more of increase in part throttle torque as my vehicle is heavy- i'm sure hp will still be better than oem 3" setup- i'll report back after install-phil

I am not a mechanic but i heard some guys saying in the forums that exhaust systems for S/C cars have to be less restrictive, but anyway i am looking for a loud one. Bigtruck311 could not have said it better. That's what I would have if I had the money. Muffler is your choice but in general, magnaflow/straight-through designed mufflers provide a deep, smooth sound, and flowmaster/chambered type mufflers give you a more throaty, raspy sound. Good luck.
Heres a little something for you I learned through doing all of the mods. The supercharger system is designed around your stock vehicle. An excessively well flowing exhaust will actually decrease your blower's ability to produce boost when there is little backpressure to aid in its production. With dual 3 inch pipes, single high flow cats, and flowmaster 40's I can make 11psi at 5650 RPM with a powerdyne bd11a and a 2.75" pulley. Obviously, I'm not running to 5650 while driving, I don't even hit 5000 as of right now and don't ever intend on going over about 5400. The 5650 was just a little overextended test I ran to see what it would do.

I wouldn't recommend navi's dual 3 inch setup regardless, unless you are at 600+ hp level, although it does sound better. If you're running true duals, 2.5" is plenty. I'm running 2.25" true duals on my NA 5.4 so I can maintain torque exactly where I will be using it on a daily basis.

Just like any other mod, recommending exhaust setups based on "seat of the pants" impressions should be taken with a grain of salt. So, with that said, I went from a single straight pipe (just cut the muffler off with a turn down), to my current setup above (true-dual 2.25" piping with a Flo-Pro 18" DI/DO muffler w/ internal X-pipe). The biggest difference is in the middle rpm ranges, 2000-3500. There is an increase in throttle response and definitely has more grunt in that area. Off the line however, I wasn't able to test both setups on the same road type/conditions so I'm not so sure of any difference. I could chirp the tires from a stop before, and I can do the same now, so definitely no loss there. As far as top end power goes, I honestly can't say that the difference is huge over what I had before. Since I have more midrange power now though, the power doesn't hit as hard in the upper rpm range as it did, more of a constant pull, much smoother now. Hopefully that will answer your questions, let me know if you have any more.
