how should i run duals on an expedition?
just as the title says,, I was wondering how to run the dual exhaust on my expedition I have 4x4, & am hoping somone would have some pics, or any advice on how to route the pipes.
Navi, I didn't know you had picts!! Can you send me some picts of your ride, especially the exhaust! I'm about to get some pipes bent and I'm curious as to how you did yours. Also, does your Navi have 4WD, if so does it have 2WD option on the switch? chevy9567@yahoo.com is my email. Thanks!
Mikeyss, Yes, being a 98 I have 2wd, awd, 4hi and 4lo (which is the only way to go!)
Deek, I have air ride so a dual rear exit wasn't plausable with the rear air level sensor on the drivers side without removal of the spare, and I didn't want to do that, although, with those 305 tires the spare would ride like azz anyway
I can't seem to locate the pics on my hard drive, so forgive me for the bandwith I am about to eat
Passengers side cat

Around the xfer case, real tight fit!

Back of tranny to Flowmaster 40's

Flowmaster exiting back

Dual rear exit behind passenger tire, and yes the weld holding the tips together was shiatty, it is still shiatty, it keep breaking from the stress

Side shot of the flows

This is the drivers side long view, the glare on the middle/top right is the pipe, the torsion bar covered most of the good view.

These were taken shortly after install, and I had a couple leaks I had to fix. THe cats are magnaflow jeep 258 I6 parts, the mufflers are flowmaster original 40 series, and the tips are magnaflow. I know I always knock magnaflow MUFFLERS, but at the time all that was available to me was mag cats and tips, and I did this 12 hours before an 800 mile road trip. I can take some better pictures with it up on my lift so you can get a better full idea. Just let me know

Thanks for the picts, you answered alot of my questions! Do you know off hand if the t-case was changed from 98 to 99? I ask this because I'm hoping I don't have to change the t-case and front diff to get 2WD. So far I have found the front diff has the cover but doesn't have the vacuum pump and arm that engages the front diff. There is just a hole where I think the rod pushes on. As for the transfer, I hear that 97-98 had a CAD, but I'm not sure if my case has this. I don't care what I need to buy to change this to de-activate the 4AWD, but I need to do it. I hate driving on dry pavement knowing that the front end is engaging when it doesn't need to be engaging. Its hard on the drivetrain and in my opinion steering and handling is a bit scary with 4AWD. My 98 Expy had a totally different steering feel, and its because it was true 2WD when I had the switch there.
