98Navi - I looked today on the bottom of the casting and there were these numbers that were on the inlet side: 430402 with a few smaller numbers on the top. The only numbers on the bottom with the flowmaster imprint were the Patent numbers. I can't see the top of the muffler, and I couldn't feel anything imprinted on it.

Here ya go:

Hi,
You made a good choice if you dont want to hear it in the truck. I have the deltaflow 40 series 2.5 single in to 2.5 dual out with 3.5" magnaflow tips 12" in length. I got it put on the 10th of feb. One week later, i was disappointed because I paid about 300 bucks for the muffler, tips, pipes and labor and dont have an exhaust i can hear while driving. This week i am going the way of cutting of that restrictive y pipe, puttin in duals from the stock cats, and running Dynomax Bullet Race Mufflers into the magnaflow tips. Also will have a H pipe installed to balance out the exhaust pulses. The delta 40 does have a deep sound to it, but lacks in the volume department. It kinda sounds like a nice mustang would, but only if it was from about 3-4 blocks away . You have to remember the stock 4 cats really muffle any sound there is so you need to get a pretty straight through design if you want any volume. I dont think on these trucks with the stock cats on you will ever achieve a sound that is so loud and unbearable inside the cab that you cant hear yourself think or hear the radio. Well good luck and hope that helped a little. Pete

oh ok good to know, future f150 purchase will have to be a 06 or newer lol. Dont wanna have to deal with replacing exhaust 3-4 times to find a sound level for my liking. Thanks Pete

I have the 40 series original cut off after the muffler. It is a great sound level but killed my mpg dropped from 13 to 10 so I am goin to the muffler shop this weekend and getting tailpipes put on it. I have not decided for sure what tips I want or how I want them. If you are goin to get rid of your back cats you might look into putting two high flow cats in place of your first two factory cats that will give you a more aggressive performance sound it will also be much louder then you can do the famous job of replacing the factory headers with some jba shorty headers of headman headers then that will really make your truck loud not to mention the gain in hp and torque.
