Flowbasterd action

recently got a flowmaster 40 series SI/DO put on my 05 Supercab. its 2 1/2 in. running into 22"long 4" wide silverline SS tips. put a $445 dent in my wallet but its a premo job so.. just wanted your thoughts.. wanted to know your opinions and i'll certainly get some pics on here asap. its quite manly. and people look and stare when i start it up. really lets everyone know its 5.4 V8.. o and btw i told the guy before he set up my exhuast that i wanted a deep manly sound.. so he said he'd put a flowmaster on it.. wanna know what was all over his shop? magnaflow propaganda... o well.. pics to follow

Good choice. Don't you just love the Magnaflow rocks, Flowmasters sucks kool-aid drinkers around here. When I went and got mine put on I got Flowmasters too because I like the way they sounded. Mine aren't as loud as yours but I like the deep throaty rumble that comes out when I mash on the accelerator.

Kool Aid drinkers? Well, I like Kool Aid every once in awhile, but I have good reason to hate flowmaster. My old set up rusted out after about three years, and the hangers broke. Cut it off, and you could not imagine the amount of black soot and crap (like handfulls) which I think got stuck in their "baffles".

Anyways, did get a magnaflow (straight through, no damned baffles) and stainless steel. With a lifetime warranty. Wanna know why Flowmaster doesn't have a lifetime warranty? It'd bankrupt them.

Atleast that's my two cents.

Face it man, the Flowmaster boys have an inferiority complex because they support an inferior product. Looking at the construction difference between Magnaflow and Flowmaster, it is easy to see why. You can have your little "sound chamber" BS that causes a bunch of turbulence. I'll take a straight-through design any day. I like sporkdevil have done the Flowmaster thing (on two trucks) and after trying Magnaflow I must concede it is the superior product.

you magnaflow guys must be the ones with the inferiority complex, you have to go on threads about how great flowmasters are just to stir up trouble becuase you are pist about how you paid double the price for a exuast that doesnt sound as good(IMO) and i have had flowmasters on almost all my vehicles and never had any rust, if somebody asks about magnaflows than you can chime in, you have a great day i am going to go start up my truck to hear that great flowmaster rumble

FYI Kool-Aid drinkers: A HANGAR is not part of a muffler, it's part of the exhaust system. And what part of the exhaust system fell apart? $20 says it wasn't the Flowmaster muffler. And because I live in Missouri, I want proof if it was the muffler!

Well let's see you live in southern California (close to San Diego). That area is a large very arid desert. There are airplane graveyards in southern California because the very arid climate prevents rust and corrosion. That is aircraft are stored out in the open in the desert because they won't rust and their parts could be reused. Therefore I would also say that all your vehicles should not have rust on them either.

That being said, if you live in a part of the country where they put down deicing salts all over the roadways when it snows and/or ices up, you will have vehicles that rust and corrode due to these salts. Therefore alot of people will buy a stainless muffler like a magnaflow because we all know that stainless is much more resistant to corrosion.

However this argument is stupid anyways. People choose a muffler because they like they way they sound. It's all based on opinions. Just because some people like the sound of a Magnaflow over a Flowmaster, that doesn't mean that Flowmaster is an inferior product. It means their opinion is that they think a Magnaflow sounds better than Flowmaster!!!! The only reason to buy a muffler is because of the way it sounds, unless you have done major engine modifications.

Therefore why bash people because their opinion is such that they prefer Magnaflow.
