Question Loud exhaust!!!

Hey all

I currently have a 1998 f-150 4x4 extended cab with 33's.
its got the mean look but its laking in the sound department. The gibson setup just isnt cutting the cake. im think about puttin a true dual setup on with the 40's. the only thing is that i dont know if it is worth changin the cats. Its got the 5.4 in it now. I want loud!!

headers?

Do you have headers on it? I just put BBK shorty headers and a Gibson Super Truck muffler on my 97. Its a 4.6 and its plenty loud.

headers

Thats a good idea. no i dont have headers. were they something that you were able to do yourself. The only problem im having is whether the 4 cats make a difference. im kinda running on a short budget. im thinkin about what muffler. i think im sold on the imco extremes. i dont know whether i should put hi flow cats on or not would it make a noticable difference or would it be loud enough with the stockers.

Nah. I didn't do it myself. It's kinda tight in there, so i took it to my mechanic. I decided to do one because I blew a cat and the dealer wanted to charge me a ridiculous amount of money to fix it with the stock parts. So I said screw it and went with headers and a new muffler. I did stick with the stock cats though. Still its plenty loud. I'm not sure what kind difference high flows would make.
