Magnaflow same side exit in front of tire

I was thinking about placing a Magnaflow same side exit in front of tire kit on my truck.
Does anyone have any pro/cons for the side exit scheme?
I am mostly worried about residue building up on my rear wheel.
thanks for your input.

edit-- sorry i posted this in the OEM section rather than the aftermarket.

If you are worried about residue build up on your wheels then by a kit that goes after your tire, just my opinion, or you could drive everywhere backwards

I like the looks of the tips ahead of the rear tire.

Tip location

The only drawback I can think of is that the exhaust exiting in front of the rear tire will allow more exhaust note/tone into the cab. The ride will be quieter the further back you go.

surprisingly i dont get that much residue on the rear tire on my 03 L. i would think that it would but it doesnt. You can hear it more in the cab but its not too bad. I have true dual maganaflows right now and unless u get on it pretty hard, you cant hear it too bad

there is more insulation under the cab of the truck then there is in the back of the cab so by having mufflers under the cab of the truck there is less exhaust noise... mine is pretty silent.

Unless you want to be cleaning your rims regularly i wouldnt do it, although it looks good, If any one remembers in 97 there was a exaust recall for the F150's because it was exiting in front of the rear whell and turning the rim green they repalced the rim and put a tail pipe that exited behind the rear wheel, the choice is yours man.

Cool

buy a magnaflow muffler the same size of the one in the kit have it installed by muffler shop with a turndown under the truck.

After many years running the Gibson Supertruck, no problems with residue or stains. Now I have another but similar setup with magnaflow accessories. I am very happy with the sound in and out, and with this kind of configuration.

For photos you can go to my website.

Same experience with the Gibson Supertruck. Nothing ever built up on the wheel or tire. However, it was considerably louder in the cab than my new Magnaflow with rear behind tire exit (Harley dual setup).
