Maybe there's other reasons to consider like: kind of wheel, quality of exhaust gases, exact position of the tips, humidity, temperature......etc.

All this will vary for all of us, meaning different outcomes, IMHO.

I just installed one today Magnaflow 15827. I think it's sweet! I don't think you'll have much residue, if you wash your truck once a month. Good luck!

Does anyone have any pro/cons for the side exit scheme?
I am mostly worried about residue building up on my rear wheel.

thanks for your input.

edit-- sorry i posted this in the OEM section rather than the aftermarket.

That's odd. I never got a recall on my '97 and I just got rid of it last month.

Had a rear exiting catback system on it within 2 months of leaving the lot anyway though...

Supposedly their design reasoning for that setup in '97 was to keep from crushing the tailpipe when backing up to a loading dock.... ... how many people do you know that have ever crushed the standard tailpipe on an F150 backing up to a loading dock?

Right now I'm enjoying the silence of my new '05... and probably saving some gas. I'm not stomping the loud peddle anymore to hear it roar.
