No Clamps!

Im going to order my Magnaflow this week. I hate the idea of having clamps. What did yall pay to have it welded? Did they have to TIG it because its Stainless?

I had mine done last week up here in Canada, They put it on with the clamps and after a day it had some exhaust leaks and just overall seemes flimsy. So I went back up to the muffler shop and they welded up the whole darn thing. Seems way more solid now as well say if you give the tip a good tug. As far as the charge the whole ordeal cost me a $100. To be honest I feel better with it being completely welded up vs using the clamps everywhere.

FWIW, I have a full cat-back Magnaflow system with the Pack's on my 01 Mustang GT. I did the whole thing myself in my driveway and have never had any leaks and the system has never got loose at all. I've had it for 2 years. You just have to make sure you get it all put together good and tighten the clamps down really tight. In my opinion, I prefer clamp-on/bolt-on rather than having it welded because I can do it all myself and save the $$ for another mod.

I could just hear it a hair...........when you plugged up the tail pipe with a rag you could really hear the leaks coming out of various areas. So each to their own, I prefer mine being welded and if you like yours being clamped to save a few $ more power to you.

Oh, don't get me wrong! I wasn't saying you shouldn't get it welded, I was just saying for me, I never had problems with mine leaking so I didn't need to have it welded. And that was good for me cause it saved me money.

No worries...........who knows maybe the shop that put mine on rushed it and didnt have something aligned properly causing the leaks. Just didnt seem as solid to me as I would have liked, now that it is welded I have more peace of mind if nothing else.
