I just replaced my 50 series muffler that i put on back in January, with a 40 series muffler and it sounds great! Although i do have a question, when you put a new muffler on, do you get a weird smell? Granted i just put it on yesterday, and i need to wear it in, but i didnt know if this was normal. Hit me up if you have any advice for me.

Bird Hunter, that's the normal "new muffler" smell. It usually mixes with the fresh weld smell from the muffler shop. Talk about a MANLY smell!

Thanks for the heads up. I was a little worried at first.

I would say the gibson sounds great but it isnt very loud. The magnaflow will be louder but not as deep. Both are well made and would give more power than the flows.

Thumbs up Flowmaster 40's

I had a SI/DO put on this week and does it sound great. It exceeded my expectations and it only cost around $300. Thanks for the advice of everyone here.

Hey guys, i just replaced my Flowmaster 50 series muffler with the 40 series. And now i am blowing white smoke out the pipes whenever i let the truck sit for a couple of hours, can anyone tell me what that is? I mean it can create a big smoke cloud when i hit the gas hard. Will this hurt my truck in the long run?

I put a "Flowsound" on my old STX 4.6. It looks just like a flowmaster, but sounds alot better...SI/SO...Muffler and install total $75.00 It was amazing the sound it put out for a single exhaust...I bough it at my local exhaust shop, not sure if they are available everywhere

You are just smelling welding fumes. It may last a day or two.
