Magnaflow.. how disappointing

Called Magnaflow to see if they have an exhaust system for my 2001 F150 Harley Davidson. Their answer... Nope.. only 2002 and up for Harley's. The best they can do is a universal muffler.

Not sure what I'm going to do.

Just go to a local muffler shop and get them to fab u up a system using magnaflow if thats what u want. Ive had true dual magnaflows on my 03 Lighting for bout four months and the are ok. Im used to a flowmaster sound and will probly switch out pretty soon. No knock against magnaflow just not my cup of tea

The 2001 is not supercharged, right? Just use the #15609 like all other N/A F-150's supercabs.

correct the 99-2001 were non supercharged but the fastest year model was the 99 with the available 4.6L 32V. but the stock exhaust one the HD trucks Harley davidson tuned them for performance so aftermarket exhaust is just waist of money

Faster, I don't think there was a 99 HD and I know there was never a 32V 4.6 or 5.4L in F-150's.

2000 Supercab Flareside NA 5.4L
2001 Supercrew NA 5.4L
2002-2003 Supercrew Supercharged 5.4L

Just use the #15609 or #15749 for a 00 or 01 HD.

correct, 2000 was the first year.

I went ahead and got a Magnaflow Wide Open muffler. I also moved the pipes from behind the rear wheel to the front.

As far as performance, it is true that the stock HD muffler gave the most performance and that aftermarket mufflers are pretty much just for extra loudness, which is what I wanted. It sounds pretty good. Not a huge difference over stock, but still an improvement.

oh, and as far as catbacks, I believe the #15609 and #15749 use a single, single out muffler. The HD's use a singe in, dual out muffler.

The 15749 is single in - dual out.

Ended up going with a Magnaflow Wide Open muffler and just had the local exhaust shop move the exhaust tips from behind the rear wheel to in front. Sounds really good.
