Question MagnaFlow #15821 Installed, Is This Normal?

So I "kicked" off my old exhaust yesterday and installed my MagnaFlow SISO (#15821 since truck was made in May '04). Love the look and sound of it, however...the tip looks really weird and I don't seem to notice it looking like this on the other pics I've seen. The piping itself extends almost to the end of the tip creating a baffle type look. Does this look "odd" to anyone else??? It almost appears that the tip was put on too deep because it actually sits farther in than my stock exhaust did, no matter where or what I moved/adjusted.

More pics here...

Magnaflow changed the tip for the previous generation as well to the same one. I don't care for it. I'd spend $30 for a 15 degree slash cut tip.
