Don't buy Magnaflow!!!

i have been reading posts about magnaflow and had the impression that they were the best product on the market. however, when i recieved my magnaflow (#16614) for my 2004 1/2 f150, it did not fit AT ALL!!! i ended up having to go to a shop to get it installed-costing me more money and time. the shop said that the pipes were totally wrong and that i should contact magnaflow. after contacting magnaflow, the tech said well it "should" have fit. my point is that it didn't and what are you going to do? with no issues resolved he said goodbye and i want all to know that magnaflows products are at best a gamble when you purchace their systems. the sound is not that great. it would have been cheaper for me if i had just gone with a custom system initially and saved me the trouble.

Just because you had a bad experience, please don't bring down the Magnaflow name. I'm completely satisfied with my system, and I think it sounds great. There will be times when a product was mislabeled or whatnot, and things will go wrong...it's the price of doing business. I'm sorry for your misfortune, but like I said, there are many VERY satisfited Magnaflow customers, including myself.

If your truck was built before June of 2004, then you did buy the wrong system, the 16614 is for the 2005s and 2004s built after June.

All those kits & you got a bad one (or ordered the wrong one).... all those do-it-yourselfters got it done w/o issue... yet one person didn't. Me thinks there is nuttin' wrong with the Magnaflow setup... can't wait to order mine up!

I think hisurf's problems stem from a poor customer service representative that did not inform him of the exhaust change. And you would imagine that your ording an exhaust from an exhaust company that they would know about the change. It's a shame that hisurf got this guy and had his opinion of magnaflow ruined.

I don't have magnaflow YET, but I hope that I don't get this same "ignorant" customer service rep.

...so Let's All have A Beer!

Love my Magnaflow, sounds awesome to me. I did a ton of research on their systems, found out exactly what system I needed, knew what installation issues others were having and had an idea of what to expect. I know I would be upset if it were me too, but I think the good opinions of Magnaflow are far more than the bad.

Coming here and posting this at a site where 70% or more of 04-05 f150 owners that have aftermarket exhaust have Magnaflow won't get much done. I know that you have to be pretty unhappy with them, but if I were in your shoes both the retailer and Magnaflow would get tired of hearing from me until they did something to resolve the issue(like paying the muffler shop bill).
Most of us that own Magnaflow would recommend them to anyone...Kevin

okay guys. here's the deal. i am not knocking the performance of the magnaflow product rather i am quite angry or dissappointed with the complications and inability of the tech to help me in anyway. compensation atleast for the shop bill would be nice. the production date on my truck is june 25, 2004 therefore it would mean that i need part #16614. it did not work for me!!!

I have the 15609 catback and am totally satisfied with the sound and performance. If I was in your shoes I would be pissed off too but to say it sounds bad is a little puzzling. Did you call Magnaflow before you installed it? They should have been more helpful but jerks work in all companies. I think it took me a total of 2 hours to install mine and that included careful cutting off the trash can size tip that I didn't like and bending up the tailpipe hanger to get a better tucked up look. Sorry for your troubles. Oh almost forgot, the stainless steel clamps do suck, I stripped two out before it seemed to get tight enough, but that was minor. $6 bucks for three HD clamps.

Maybe you should of looked under your truck first to see what factory setup you have. Sounds like you needed the 15821.
