Back Pressure
Back Pressure
Im looking to regain some lowend torque back. I stomped on the gas and i only heard noise no power. It used to throw me back in my seat. I have no cats with mag mufflers 2.5" dual pipes. Any help would be great. Ive heard add an h pipe. But any other suggestions would be great.

Dual 2.5" should be fine for the 5.4L. No cats though, are you using MIL eliminators?
You can add an X-pipe (skip the H) for a little power. Go back to stock tire size would be the most effective, though.

If you want torque back then you want to go back to the Y-pipe setup. True dual (or even H-pipe) robs some low- to mid-range torque to gain high end horsepower.
With the Y-pipe you get a little more backpressure which helps scavenge the spent air/fuel mixture on the exhaust stroke.

i have true dual straight pipes with an h pipe and didn't lose much low end.so i'm sure if you had an x-pipe and good mufflers it shouldn't have much less low end than stock.try usin a piece of 2 1/4 pipe thrown in with an x pipe.
