I agree wholeheartedly. That's why I always do my own work. But, while I do know how to weld, I don't own a welder, which makes this particular project impossible to do myself. And while chains are rip-offs at twice the price, at least you know you're getting a quality product. That's the risk with using another shop, unless you do it often enough to get a good rapport with a shop. Maybe I'll just spend the extra $200 that would have gone to labor and buy a cheap (used) MIG welder instead.

There's a decent little independant muffler shop at Lee road and Edgewater, 2nd or 3rd driveway West on Lee Rd on the left.
Damn man, that sucks. My 2001 F-150 XL Step Side V6 has dual cats and I had the exhaust done to go into a custom muffler designed by the shop and then Y-pipe out of the muffler for the dual pipes out of the back. The guy was begging me to let him do true dual because i had the dual cats but i couldn't afford it. I know that some shops wont do the dual tips out of the back because they think that you can't get around the suspension or they will have to take out the spare tire but I dont know what they are talking about because I see so many trucks around here that have the dual pipes.
