I bought my Cat-back Magnaflow!! Just a quick Question

hello All ,
I just bought my Cat-back Exhaust model #15749 si/do Stainless . It will be here tommarow . $362.73 delivered to the door. Great price !!!
I do have 2 questions though . B4 I bought the cat-back system I purchased some tips(prematurly b4 I new I was getting the cat-back system ) I like the tips better then the ones that come with the system. The tips I bought r 22" long and the ones that come with the 15749 system r only 18" long.

Question # 1 .
Can I just have the instailer cut of 4 " from the tail pipe to install the longer tips ( its made to fit my truck will this mess up any of the fittings/hangers/clamps )

Question #2 .
having the longer tips installed will it hurt my performance or sound do to the 15749 system being made for my system with the 18" Tips .

Any help on this matter will be greatly appreciated ( im going to have it installed on friday 2/18 )

Thanks in advance ,

The installer may or may not have to cut the tail pipe in order to get those longer tips on. It depends on how the tip is made, as to whether or not he has to chop anything off the tail pipe. Most tips just slide on to the pipe and are held into place by either clamps or tack welds. Either way I don't THINK it will affect the hangers and clamps. Someone that has installed one of these systems may KNOW for sure.

As far as the performance and sound...

You wont gain or lose any performance from exhaust tips, they are simply cosmetic. I really doubt you would have noticed a difference in sound between an 18" and 22" tip. If it was larger in diameter then you could hear a difference, say a 3" diameter tip vs. 4".
