lodest exaust

I was just wondering what everyone thinks or knows is the loudest and best sounding cat-back system I can buy for a 4.6. I am looking for something to really give it that american v8 sound. i listened to the gibson supertruck and that sounds pretty good, but I cannot find one of a flowmaster or anyothers. Any ideads?

if you want a nice loud rumble at idle and a mean sound while accell., go with true dual straight pipes. You WILL NOT be dissapointed, and theyre cheap too. Later on, if for some reaon you dont like them, you can always buy a set of mufflers/glasspacks and have them welded in.

No since in buying expensive mufflers if you dont like them and have them cut out later. Try straights!

The loudest has to be straight pipes. I did that to my 01 KR 4.6 and it was LOUD. At highway speed it droned something terrible. I ended up putting a Dynomax muffler on it.

That tamed it down and still sounded good.

New 05 KR 5.4 has Magnaflow cat back system. Good sound without being overly loud. No drone either.

I know the actual difference between a muffler and glass pack mufflers, but what would be the sound difference between the two?

I just put in a flowmaster 40, in place of factory muffler, still has factory tail pipe. It sounds pretty good at idle, and sounds real good at about 2000 rpm. After that i can't even hear it!
I don't really have any drone as everyone is talking about.

It was real easy to just change muffler tho, i had to make a new hanger out of flat bar and some rebar welded together, and i just cut the tail pipe behind the muffler and clamped everything back together.

Its a delta 40 full stainless, single in single out, offset inlet centered outlet. Its seems to be getting louder every day, i have had it almost a week now.

I had to buy a couple peices of pipe to make it long enough, the one pipe has a bend in it, so everything would line up. I could post a pic, how do i do that?
