Flowmasters on an 04 FX4

I'd like to put some Flows on my 04 FX4, but i have a few questions.

My dad had dual exhaust installed on his 99 silverado, not sure on the brand, but not flowmasters, and they are way too loud! Inside the truck, you can hardly hear enough to hear yourself talk, its as if they are too deep sounding, and give off a BORRRRRRRR sound.

I don't want this.

I'm looking for some flowmasters that have a deep, low rumble on the outside, but aren't ridiculously too loud on the inside. I want to still be able to hear myself think.

Would the original 40's series work? Delta 40's? Which ones? Thanks

A Delta Flow 40 is what I have an I recommend it. Pretty deep and loud outside, very little noise inside. Super 40's are supposed to be quiet inside as well. Regular 40's can drone inside.

hey there i have a 2000 5.4 with a flowmaster 40 series si/do muffler... for the most part its quiet in the cab til u get on it. ( i used to have a 91 gmc with true duals and over sized cats so my quiet may be differant then yours!! ) but i have 33inch bf goodrich AT and at 60-70 i hear them more then the exhaust...if your below 2750rpm at cruising speed it wont drone out anything but once u kick it down..ull kno its there!

Hey bro, go with the Flowmaster Super 40 (new Delta Flow)...i recently ordered a 2.5" si/DO for mine but haven't installed it yet....like evryone has said, you get the deep mean sound outside with reduced drone and vibration in the cab.....if you ask me, nothing sounds better than a "flowed" truck passing you at about 4500 RPM............
