4.6L exhaust

Just bought a 2003 F150 with the 4.6L V8. I want this thing to sound mean, but not be so loud that you can't hear yourself think on the inside. Can you switch to true "duals" without effecting any emissions/sensors?? I'm swinging toward flowmasters because I've always liked their sound. Any suggestions on what series to get would be appreciated. I definitly would like true duals if I can make the transformation without causing any problems with the 02 sensor. I've got an excellent muffler guy here in my home town, so really all I've got to do is let him know what I want. Let me know everyones opinion.

thanks,
Darren K

I haven't looked yet, but I assume I need to get a 2.5" inlet and outlet correct??

I plan on going with true dual exhaust and dual flow master mufflers. The original 40 series was what I was planning on going with, just wanted to see what you guys suggested.

IMHO

I followed Green 98's advice (where you at on this green?) and had the stock muffler cut out and a straight pipe put in.
It's still quiet on the inside, less than $40.00 and I love the way it sounds.
How good does it sound?

Example: My wife took me to work so she could keep the truck for the day. I went inside the office after she dropped me off, did a couple things and as I went back outside, I heard what sounded like an old big block muscle car leaving hard. I turned around in time to see it was my truck!

ps...please read up in the searches on dual exhaust. It's not like the old days. The correct amount of backpressure for these engines is VERY important to low end.

My Dad and I just got through talking about taking the muffler off and running straight pipes out the back. HOWEVER, will this VOID my warranty or not?? I've heard the sound is good and it's much cheaper that way. Let me know man.

Thanks,
Darren

If you're wanting to save money, just throw on a glasspack or a strait pipe.
