muffler

What's the difference in me putting dual exhaust from one muffler than dual using two mufflers...I had dual put on...it comes to the back wheel [or a little in front] and then splits to my two pipes...is there anything wrong with that?

hey there, my 2000 f-150 has just a flowmaster muffler single in dual out right where the stock was. it has plenty of room and sounds alright. i have heard alot of people say they sound like crap but hey thats opinion i happen to like the sound alot. i used to have a91 GMC with true duals and overflow cats and it was loud as hell...for a more controled sound i love the flowmaster.. but i think more people i know have the single in dual out exhaust rather then a dual muffler set up. just saves the money you would spend on a y pipe and another muffler!

2 mufflers will be quieter; you have 2 mufflers to absorb the same sound. 2 mufflers are more expensive, heavier, and more likely to cause fitment problems.
