Exhaust Question
I am considering making a change to the exhaust system on my F250, and wanted some input from others. My primary concern is gas mileage (which I know will not see too dramatic an improvement from this), and after that low-end torque (for towing). I am not too concerned with sounding more aggressive, but if that happens to come with it, so be it! :-) What are should I really consider - single vs. dual outs, side vs rear exit, etc.?
Also, I have read in other posts that adding an FIPK (or similarly improving air intake capabilities) without a corresponding increase in exhaust capacity can sometimes cause a performance downgrade. Should I be concerned about changing out the exhaust system and waiting on the FIPK?
Any advice greatly appreciated.

Flowmaster 70 series muffler.......I did muffler only and could actually feel an improvement in performance, can't say I noticed any improvement in mileage. Other mods, Superchip, made big improvement, Airaid FIPK, sounds great, can't tell it made any improvements. 70 series is a big muffler, just a little louder than stock.

JDMnAR,
I'd highly recommend Gibson. See my post https://www.f150online.com/f150board...ML/000638.html
Also look for posts my jmartinb and several other that have installed it in the past few weeks. Lok at the Gibson site as well. http://gibsonperformance.com look for the Swept Side. It's great!
By the way, there are several sites that carry Gibson and right now there are even a few that have them on sale or offer free shipping. truckperformance.com is where I got mine. Stainless delivered for $369. Look for posts for other places to.
This Gibson is great and the Swept Side is exactly what youre looking for it sounds like. If you hear my recordings, keep in mind, to me, the recordings sound really loud. It sounds very good. If you want loud, this aint it. It's a sweet big block mellow kinda thing....I love it.
Also look for other posts by me in Computer chips. I'm able to get much better MPG after the Airaid, Superchip and Gibson. You'll see from my huge long posts, I've changed my driving habits though. But, I can now get 15-16 around town and 18+ on the HWY.
Seriosly look at Gibson. By the way, you can also email Roger at the Online Store here for pricing on the Gibsons. Sometimes he can be competitive, but he's not direct with Gibson. But give him a shot. I did buy my Airaid from him though.
Whew.....sorry for the long post.
