Cool

Gibson. http://www.gibsonperformance.com

The Supertruck, Sport Truck, and the Sweptside can all be had for less than $300 on the aluminized ones. You can install them yourself as they are bolt in replacements.

Thumbs up

I agree, Gibson is a great choice and in most cases you can do it yourself (see my post(s) on my install 2 weeks ago) or for about $75 have a muffler shop do it.

Gibson is great quality. You won't get the shiny 304 Stainless you get with Borla but then again, it's exhaust. The aluminized is just as good unless you're where it's real humid or salty where most any exhaust would rust through. I got Stainless simply because I couldn't beat the deal I got before Christmas.

I'm gonna have to say Flowmaster. BTW- What size is your engine? Each engine puts out a different sound w/ any hi-flo muffler. Good luck

Cool

There's alot of (non-stainless-steel) cat-backs for under $300; they can easily be self installed. My Dynomax cost $242 took 1hr to put it on.

gunna stir this up a little,

i have the stainless swept side cat back (putting it on this weekend). it was 413 to my door, and from reading another post somewhere on this page someone got it for 398 to door.

in the long run i anticipate that the extra dollars will be made up for by the lifetime rust warranty. so what if you save a little now, you may have to buy and entire new system 3 years down the road due to rust if its not stainless.

wait awhile if you have to, but do the job right, and only do it once.

mikebourg,

i purchased from carparts.com.

i actually spoke to them after looking at truckperformance.com. if i remember correctly i called them up and said 'what can you give it to me for'. they came back with a price. i then told them 'truckperformance told me $425 to door'. heard lots of typing in the background and the guy came back with the better price.

you might also check on this page, i found out later that i could have got it from here for 425 to door but i could not contact the online store cause it was the weekend, carparts answered the phone, had the best price, and i wanted to buy it immediately so i did.

next time i purchase something i will do it here.

Mikebourg, I noticed in the description of your truck you have the rear entertainment system.I was told at the dealership where I ordered (and also work) that this option wasn't going into production until march 5. When was yours built? How do you like it? I ordered on Jan. 25 and was told it would take 8 weeks but I'm not holding my breath.

Bdyman,
Mine was born on 10/00. I took it home in October. It is factory installed and not a custom dealer installation. I even surprised the dealer when I showed them that it was installed. When I saw my truck for the first time, it had just come in off of the truck. It had not yet been preped and the dealer had not yet even checked into inventory. I drove it home that same day. The funny thing is that I was there to purchase a different truck. I think that the entertainment system is great. I didn't think that it was very practical, but I did feel fortunate to have it. I have found out that everyone want to take my truck on trips now. Everyone wants to ride in the back and watch movies. I can't blame them. The only complaint I have is that the VCP takes up the whole darn console. The glovebox is already small and I have no storage without the console. I would get it again. It should help the resale too!
