Supertruck installed yesterday
The installation is easy but removing the OEM is not. Besides the OEM, installation took me a while since I was trying to relocate everything because I have a 3" body lift and I was trying to move the system up a little. Couldn't this time and I was in a hurry to have that done and hear the rumble. I am not completly satisfied with the current position so I think I will be doing a relocation at the shop soon.
I suggested Gibson to improve their shipping packaging since my system came with a bent tailpipe. I fixed it.
Sounds great, like a V8 truck should.

JMTruck,
How do you like the system thus far? Why did you go with this system intead of the split rear? Did you notice any power lose or performance issues? What type of problems are you having with system & body lift. Sorry for all the questains but I have been considering a Gibson split rear system and was interested in some feed back. Also, your truck looks pretty good...I have been also thinking of buying a body lift for mine. Thanks for any info you could provide.

Since the body is lifted 3" the position of the Gibson is 3" down relative to the body. Meaning there is a space of more or less 3" between the tips and the bed, that I do not like. So I am thinking of modifying the position of the tailpipes, but it is going to take a couple of days while I come with a nice solution. I am trying to do it myself. But if I have to, I will be going to the muffler shop.
I like the split rear as well but there are a lot of split rear systems around and no supertruck's. So that's one and the other reason being so different as other systems around. It sounds super. My wife like it. And there's a lot of people and animals turning their heads. It doesn't matter if it's a little boy or a grandma, or a cat or horse, they wonder what the hell?....
If there is any other way I can help just let me know.

After putting some miles on the system I have to say that torque is better now.
Since I have not done the gear swap yet the truck is undergear for the moment. And you now that they will try to downshift from OD almost everytime they get to an inclined. Not now, yesterday she was pulling consistently with the throttle in the same position and carrying four adults and a baby. No downshifting.
Great.

Did you notice the torque increase at all rpm levels? I put Flowmaster on my truck last week and it seemed to lose low end tq. How does yours feel from a stop when driving normal?

Good question Mikey. I forgot to add to the message that the apparent increase is more noticeable in the 1000-2000 rpm range. I don't see a difference at WOT besides the growling. From a stop when driving normal feels like there is less effort to move the truck. If you go WOT it feels a little bit lazy but I have to consider that I need gears.

I have it on my truck, and it definately improves low end response!! I also have a K&N on it, but it will spin the tires (almost smoke them) more than before the exhaust replacement.
