Muffler or No Muffler

Need help on this one. I got a 01 S'crew with a 4.6 in it. The previous owner removed the 1 in 2 out muffler and installed a a straight pipe with a Y piece. My quest is should a put a 1 in 2 out hi flow muffler in for better performance or just leave it alone. I love the sound so I wouldn't want to loose that.

With straight pipe, you are probably losing some low end torque due to the lack of back presure. Not sure how much, you would have to dyno for that. If you like the sound, I say stay with it! Unless you are trying to get better track times or pull something. You can always go with a high flow muffler to gain some of that low end torqu back though!

Thanks Colby
I figured that I was lossing some low end but didn't know how mich. I pull a bass boat with a tow/perf tune so I really haven't noticed it while pulling. I might just go ahead a throw a hi flow on it and see, if not I'' put it back the way it is.
