Question dual cats

I've never had my truck on a rack untill the other day. I was checking underneath and saw that there were two separate cats going into a single pipe and muffler. I saw another post that said that they were different sizes on his. These are the same size and the same location. each right between the drive shaft and body going straight back then the driver's side swings over and joins the other one.
I was hoping that I can just run straight duals out of the back of these cats. Would there be a problem with this. Other than the loss of backpressure yadda..yadda..?

As long as it is not prohibited by your local laws, there isn't a problem running true duals. (see signature)

Cool

Thanks for the input Nomo. What is on your expedition is what I'm going for. There's a good muffler shop here in my home town and I don't really like the much more expensive pre-fab stuff. I had a glass pac on my old truck and it lasted 5 years and was still good when I sold it in August so I'll just go that route. I live in TX so I'm sure there arn't any laws against it since over 50% of the people here dirve trucks.
