Exclamation TRUE DUALS???

IN RESPONSE TO TRUE DUAL SYSTEMS. THE REASON THAY ARE NOT ALL WHAT THEY SEEM IS THEY RELIVES TO MUCH BACK PRESSURE AND CAN HURT YOUR LOW END PERFORMANCE, ALSO CAN RUIN YOUR EGR VALVE AND VOID YOUR FACTORY WARRANTY BECAUSE ALL NEW AGE MOTORS REQUIRE A CERTIAN AMOUNT OF BACK PRESSUE NOT LIKE THE OLD HOT RODS THAT WERE JUST A BLOCK CARB AND EXHAUST THERE WAS NO SMOG OR COMPUTER B.S. TO DEAL WITH BUT NOW IT CAN REALLY HURT YOUR MOTOR IN THE LONG RUN.THIS WAS ALSO THE TOPIC IN THE DECEMBER ISUE OF SPORT TRUCK "THE TRUTH ABOUT TRUCK PERFORMANCE" "MORE PERFORMANCE WILL BE GAINED WITH A LARGER DIAMITER SINGE SET UP"

Cool

Supertraps are the answer. They are a little more expensive than some other mufflers, but they fit on the end of your exhaust pipes and look closed, but the flow is straight thru the muffler.

They look closed becuase it has disks that mount inside the tip of the muffler. They are tunable mufflers... you can remove disks for less backpressure and more low end torque or you can add disks back to decreas backpressure the desired amount and increase the sound.

And they have great sound

I too will agree that it is POSSIBLE for true duals to relieve too much backpressure. I experienced a loss of low-end power when I had them and glasspacks installed on the Expedition. A more restrictive set of mufflers would help regain the torque lost in the 1000-2000 rpm range.

As for the EGR and other "problems", I've not had a single issue in the two years that the duals have been installed. It's even been in for warranty work (nothing engine related) and has passed 3 state (OKLA) emissions inspections. I suspect that the catalytic converters provide enough backpressure to prevent any engine problems.
