Cool

Hi MIF-150, Thanks for the response on my suspension problem an now I can return the favor! Is this a great web or what? The JBA's can be installed by only removing the right wheel inner fender. There are some other posts on this some where but for sure you don't have to lift the engine! Good Luck!

Hey Mif-150,
I installed my Jba's 2 weeks ago with no major trouble. If you follow the supplied instructions it will go good. Here are a couple of things though.
One is take off your tires and remove the finder wells. If you do this they should go in with a little wiggling, that is what i did. I have the 5.4 so it could be diff for you if you have 4.6. Also the back two bolts on the drivers side (two closest to tranny) are a pain in the a** spceifically the top one. Keep a 13mm wrench handy cause you will not be able to get all the bolts with a ratchet. A short wrench works best.
Use anti seize on the bolts. One thing to consider when installing is reusing the manifold gaskets that are stock.
The 99 5.4 gaskets are made of steel and are nice and thick. In my opinion the will last longer and will not tend to blow out in spots like so many header gaskets do. I wish I would have done it. If you have these gaskets give it some thought. They seem to be real nice and the gasket hole size is same as tube size on headers so there is no worry of restriction. You can expect a .2-.4 (0-60) gain from the headers alone not much more. I did notice a little better gas milage too. If you have any other questions feel free to ask I will be more than happy to answer them. Sorry so long hope it helps.

Talking JBA headers installation tip?

Just read the new Sport Truck article. Is it true you can install the headers just by taking out the inner fender sheild?
I don't want to lift out the engine just for this project. Anyone tried this method or any other way beside the engine lift?
Any inputs will be deeply appreciated.

Cool

The Y pipe was kept and I installed a MagnaFlow single in dual out muffler. The system is emissions legal here in Florida! With the chip and the exhaust installed it ran cleaner than before the mods.
