Cool

A Tonneau cover should increase your gas mileage 20%. I would imagine a Flowmaster system would have similar results. Let's see, look cool, or sound cool. Heck, look cool while sounding cool...do both!!

Was that 20% a typo? I know the Ford brochure indicates the tonneau cover increases mileage, and I figured they wouldn't say that unless they had verified it somehow. But 20%? I thought it would be more like 2%.

i was under the impression that you get about an extra 3-4 miles per gallon.. which in a 30 gallon tank would be between 90 and 120 miles MORE !!!!.. so i dont know which do believe... and as far as doing both.. i am going to.. but its one first then the other.. i wanna look good and sound good.. i already did the K&N Filtercharger thing.. now im just looking for the expensive things to pick up.. and they have to be done one at a time.. also.. is a superchip a waste of money ???

The tonneau cover will help... But I doubt that you'll get 3-4mpg increase.(I didn't) If you keep real good fuel mileage records you'll notice it. As far as the Flowmaster is concerned if you drive anything like me it'll probably actually cost you a little mileage..(Stepping on it harder than you normally would so you can listen to the sweet music.) {YMMV}

NJ-Moose,
I did the tonno first. People see it first, it adds looks better than the exhaust. You cant here the exhuast when its parked but you can see the tonno. As far as gas milage goes, I dont have a clue to as which will help more. I plan on doing exhaust but Im doing the chip-thing first (its on its way!).

I did both and by far, I get the most comments about the Snuglid hard tonneau. I, too, have a flareside and people tink the tonneau is standard equipment. One plus is that it is lockable storage and keeps things outta sight. The Gibson Supertruck exhaust is for me...most people don't even know about it. As far a mileage and performance increases, the verdict is still out...don't really notice much improvement in either. FYI, both mods will set you back about $900-$1K. HTH

bodyside mouldings, Snugtop hard tonneau, K&N dropin and airbox mod.
Duraliner drop-in (gave up on the Penda Nascar). Gibson Supertruck
No door cracks yet at 3K!!!

Future mods: 2/4 lowering, bra and some Roush stuff.
