Don't know about that. Waited to do mine after the warranty ran out. Not on purpose just didn't get to it till then. One opinion. This thing is louder than I thought it would be. Maybe 20 percent more than I was looking for. I got it on yesterday and already had a guy come up to me and complement the sound. He noticed. He said it sounded like an old timey truck sound and he had been missing that. It is a mellow sound at idle and cruising but growly to rummbly on acceleration. And you do hear it in the cab. And feel it as well. Definately has redneck appeal!

Hey ya'll,

Just got back from checking out WSECTIONS truck and SUPER TRUCK exhaust. Tthe trucks a one of a kind up here. Looks good. The S/T is truly nice sounding. Doesn't overpower your ears and yet gets attention the instant its fired up. It can also announce your frustrations or requests for others to move out of your way!

It's next on my list and the guy at Gibson who told me it wouldn't work with factory installed running boards, I hope you ain't the one who gets the commission...

WSECTION, thanks for the beer and the info.

Mark G

A cat back performance exhaust system should not effect the warranty at all.

Mark G,

No way I can see for this Gibson ST muffler to affect your running boards. Its in the same place as the stock exhaust and is slighly smaller. From what I can see, it ain't a problem. Don't know what that salesman was smoking...

Cool

Joe,

I went to http://www.truckperformance.com/ and sent an email request to them for more information @ techinfo@truckperformance.com.

They called me back the very next day, and after answering a few questions, I placed my order.

Three days later, I recieved a catalog with other products, as well as the invoice.

Shouldn't be much longer, and I'll be bolting it on!

Make sure you take delivery of it personnaly and inspect it before you let the UPS guy go. See my thread about TPC Coustomer Service and repeated shipping damage to these units. Good luck. This is a nice product but not packaged very well.

Question

author,
why did you go with the super truck instead of the sweptside is the look,i heard the swept gives a little more power, just curious because i will be installing one of them soon.

Question

Call me dumb, but witch gibson exhaust comes out behind the rear wheel?

And are there any benefits to either the supertruck or sweptside? They use the same basic muffler correct?

This post is still alive? I went with the Super Truck for looks mostly. It is the one that comes out in front of the rear wheel (stock 97 style)with two 6 inch square chrome tips. I believe you will get more top end power with the Super Truck as evidenced by the fact that Gibson does not recomend it for "heavy" towing. (i.e. it results in less low end torq). The side swept is recomended for towing. As a result you must not get quite as much top end in order to reserve the low end. I am sure they both improve performance. Its just a matter of which end you want to compromise on. I only tow a couple of things both less than 2500 pounds so I could afford to lose the low end a little more. And I have not noticed the loss. But keep that in mind.
