Question cat-back/superchip

I'm wondering if anyone can tell me some basic performance advantages between cat-back exhaust and superchip upgrade on a 4.9 liter straight six. Cost is my primary concern at this point. Thanks.

Superchip is the best bang for the buck.

Cool

Ok, you mentioned cost was your biggest concern. The chip goes for $265 but you get a discount if you get it through the distritor here, (Mike Troyer in Computer Chips section) He will also tell you the HP and torque increases. A muffler cat-back can run anywhere from $116 (mine) and right on up. That will hugely depend on which muffler and how you want it set up, single pipe out, duel pipe out, ect. I would suggest you look up the different topics here and allot some time for reading up on all of these. Also if you go with the cat-back, at least drop in a K&N air filter to help the engine breath better. If you really shop around, you should be able to do all three for under $600, just depends on the muffler set up you go with.
