Thanks Ron and Ford Man for the imput. I agree that the service manager misunderstood me and thought that I was going to wack everything off and thats not what I want to do. Just want a little sound and extra power. I'm going to go ahead and do it and if I have to bring it in for service and they refuse I'll just have to mention the Magnuson-Moss act.

I just put on a 40 series flowmaster and it sounds good. Has a very deep rumble at low speeds and shifts but fairly quiet on the highway. I didn't want the dual pipes on mine so I had them dump the pipe underneath so you can't see any pipe. Cost me 85.00.

4x4: are you saying that you cut the pipe off short?? That it doesn't completely come out from under your truck?? What year truck? I had a steel pipe put on mine and kept it in front of the rear wheel. So it's a rather short pipe too but it does reach the side of the truck. I haven't put a chrome tip on it so no one even notices it (unless I crank up, step on the gas or change gears) Then heads turn to find that rumble.

Tina,
I have a 99 Super Duty Crew Cab 4x4 with the 5.4 v-8. Yes, the pipe doesn't come out anywhere on the truck. It comes out of the flowmaster and makes a curl downward. You might be able to see it from behind if your in a car because I have lifted the truck, but thats a maybe.

Thanks Ford man on your post about after market exhaust systems, "Vehicle Warranties" from Gale Banks Engineering site. I just installed the Flowmaster Force II DOR, muffler and duel pipes only. Converters still intact.
