Unhappy Bad Cats

I have a 200 f150 4x4 with almost a 100,000 miles on it. Lately when driveing it seems to have less power. You have to get on the gas more to go. I realy notice it more on highway driveing. I hade that sluggest response before and i hade clogged cats. Is there a way to check the cats and see if they are in fact clogged. Can you get by with out them if they are. thanks for your help.

Do you have emissions inspections where you are at?

ive heard that clogged/rotted cats produce a rotten egg smell out the exhaust pipe(s). Not sure how to confirm that your cats are clogged though.
If they are, the factory ones are VERY expensive to replace, like 500-700 bucks a piece, and theres 4 of them.
If you need cheaper after market ones, you can get them off ebay. Magnaflow hi flo cats go for 55 bucks a piece shipped, and you only need 2 of them.

For my Expedition, the Magnaflow part number for high-flow cats is:
94305

2.25-inch in/out, no air tube

It's a universal fitment, should be the same for yours - but don't quote me on that.

A guy called "Performance Peddler" on E-Bay sells them for about $65 each, including shipping.
