muffler for my 2004 5.4

Hi folks,

Well just crawled out from under the truck here is what I have noticed...

It appears to me ford did some thinking this time around. Compaired to the 99 f-150 the 2004 has a much nicer-cleaner looking exaust system.

The Y looks like it is an actual Y and not the hack and weld job I saw on my 99, the tubes look better as well.

So I am seriously considering just replacing the factory muffler with a magnaflow.

I checked with the local Muffler shop and the said it would be about $150,
that is with the aluminum muffler, I asked about stainless and he said it is better but both have a lifetime warrenty so even if the aluminum one rusted out it would be replaced under warrenty and it is 40 bucks cheaper but they can do either...

Has anyone done this as of yet? what muffler have you used and what was the result... I don't expect any real performance gain just a nice V-8 sound...

That’s what I did. I paid $100. out the door at my local muffler shop. You can get the Magnaflow’s for $60 shipping included at this address.

$100. bucks included everything. They supplied the aluminized Magnaflow and about two feet of pipe. It took them about 40 min to complete the job. That web address I gave you was just so you can compare prices of the different mufflers. Muffler shops are getting them even cheaper than that, I suspect.

The part # was 11236
4"x9" 14" body 2-1/2" O/O

It has a good throaty V8 sound, and it doesn’t drone when your at highway speeds either. I like it!
