Muffler question

I have a 2001 4.6 ext cab 4x4. I want to change my muffler to get better hp and torque. I pull a small trailer and have a wife and kids so I dont want noise in the cab. What do you recomend?

Do you want just the muffler, or a Cat back system? If you want a Catback, get the Magnaflow 15609 stainless 3" SI/SO. It does everything you specified.

If you only want a muffler, I don't think you will get the improved gains.

I'd have to agree, changing only the muffler is a sound only thing. You can remove some of the backpressure caused by the stock muffler, but without a pipe change, it is going to be minimal, thus causing mininal change.

If you want to increase HP / TQ for the TT :
Chip / microtuner
Electric Fans
Pulley set

The other thing to look at for the TT, is what gear set you have, and how they are doing the job.

Good luck, let us know what you decide,
