New Magnaflow 11386

I just installed my new magnaflow part #11386. I eliminated the stock Y-pipe and went true duels 2.5 inch back to the muffler and then 2.25 out to 3.5 inch tips. It sounds awesome. I have only run about a half a tank through it so far but it looks like about a 1 to 2 mpg increase, so I am very happy. I’m still trying to decide about my low end. When I bought my truck I thought it was lacking a little low end compared to a couple of other 5.4’s that my friends have, but I think I gained a little bit from the magnaflow. Let me know if I did ok with the exhaust, or should I have done something else. Also what should I do next for some more horsepower?

Glad to hear that you like that muffler. I just ordered it to put on my Lightning. I was trying to find a thread to see if anyone was pleased with it. Could you describe the sound for me? Can you compare it to this sound bite?

I'm very anxious to hear my new muffler.

The sound of the magnaflow is great. That sound file you have is right on the money. That sounds just like my truck, crackles and everything.

Good to hear. That was a sound clip of Bassani's full system....true duals, x pipe, and hi flow cats. about $1000
The guys at Kenne Bell say the only HP gains they have seen from upgrading Lightning exhaust is 5 HP that came from adding an X pipe. Looks like I might get the sound and HP gains of that system for the cost of a $75 muffler.....I'm psyched!!

Yeah it cost me about $80 for the muffler, and a local exhaust shop installed it for me for about $190, which included the tips and all. So the total cost was about $270.
