Don't no much about them. I'm thinking about one because money is tight. What I wanted to know is are they real loud or can some styles be mellow like a Magnaflow and do you lose a lot of back pressure and the Quality of Materials? Do they last?
Best Brands? Are they Legal?
And as always.. Thanks for all Replies,

They're a straight-thru design muffler with similar backpressure, flow, and performance of other straight-thru designs. They can be loud or mellow. Sound is generally determined by their length; shorter being louder. The fiberglass packing degenerates over time causing them to get louder. They are generally made of mild steel, so they rot/rust out over time. They are made by many companies and are completely legal. My suggestion is to save until you can afford any other straight-thru design muffler that is made completely of stainless steel. The money that you save will come back to haunt you 2 years later when replacement costs are added in. The best sounding, stainless steel, straight-thru design muffler that I have ever heard is called Dynomax Ultra-Flow Stainless Steel. Most here love a similar muffler made by Magnaflow.

Is that what you are reffering to? Is that a kit, or do you think it's custom?
I thought it's "rapping" low tone was awsome and wanted to know if I can do the same thing.

I'm not sure what you saw locally, but the Ultra-Flow has a very distinctive, muscular, throaty sound. To maximize the sound that you described, on our engines, you have to get a short muffler with less packing due to the multi-cat set up that we have. They come in a variety of sizes which are mostly oval. There are some that are round. Dynomax also makes race mufflers that are round too. I had the oval one on my 2000 5.4 for almost 4 years and had many compliments. Yes, they also make kits with the pipes. Here's the links; the second is where I bought mine.
