ATTN: Neal and other flow pro's
I'm trying to plan an exhaust sytem for a 97' 150 4x4. Its a 4.6 non PI with a chip and the FIPK. I'm replacing everything, and because of the cost I will not be doing this again, and will be double pissed if it does not work as well as what I have.
Headers will be JBA's. I do not know if Kook's will fit on a 4x4. Should the headers be ceramic coated or polished stainless?
I'll retain all 4 O2 sensors and have 2 Magnaflow Cats downstream. Plumbing will be 2.5" from the header collectors back.
Now the really tricky part: An X pipe or a Y pipe? If it's an X, what diameter core, 2.5 or 3"?
My real problem with this project is that most applications are designed for the 5.4 or PI systems that breathe much more than mine. Since the truck weighs in at 5,000 lbs, I need to retain my torque!
