Unhappy Rotted front pipe/manifold studs

1997 F-150 4x4, 4.6l V-8, Automatic. One of the studs that attached the front pipe to the exhaust manifold has completely rotted through. This is the outermost (near frame) one on the driver's side. The pipe hasn't come loose, however, the other stud is fairly thin. Has anyone else had this happen? Has anyone been able to fix it without removing the manifold? I don't want to sink a pile of money into it as I'm planning to get an 04' next summer.

Thanks!

If it's not leaking leave it alone until you trade it in. If it is leaking and you dont want to remove it for repairs you can try putting a heavy "C" clamp on it to draw it up tight. Napa used to sell a clamp just for this purpose.

Good luck.
