APT mentioned in an earlier post about the tip lookin different than in BigDeals setup. I looked and yes it is a bit different. My tip is somewhat shorter than Mikes and also comes out at a slightly different angle. The system is pure magnaflow and the only thing i can say is they might have changed the design of the tailpipe since BigDeal installed his. The system is exactly the same in all other aspects. I will get pics up as soon as i can.

Sounds like someone has tip envy.

Didn’t anyone every tell you that it’s not the size of your tip that matters… it’s what comes out of it that matters.

I got the muffler installed today. Was really easy....just used my SawZall on everything. Chopped everything apart and sawed off the old pointed tips on the rubber hangers. Whole system slid right off. Hardest part of removal was the pipe that goes from the muffler to the cat. I removed the U bolt where the pipe connects to the cat but it took about 10 minutes with a BFH, WD40, screwdriver and channel locks to get the pipe off.

Car definatley performs better and sounds louder. I am a little disappointed though....I thought it would be a little louder but i'm hoping it will sound better after a week or two of break-in.

The tip looks ok but I like the longer tip that BigDeal has. Anyone know if the tip can be purchased seperatley? I might have them yank off the current tip and weld a longer one on.

Thanks!
Mike

TIP FOR TAT....Just got off the phone with a tech from CarSound and the 15609 kit was redesigned in 02 that is the reason for angle of tailpipe and tip length and design. Thought i would just let ya know what i found out on that topic.

The Sound is awesome, pure Magnaflow baby !!!!

Storm, it was me that paid $385 plus about $50 install from Troyer Performance. No tax, BTW.

I was fully aware of the pricing from Full Line at the time also.

But, and this may sound old fashioned to some, but Troyer EARNED my business. To some that means nothing, but to me, it means alot. I suspect Full Line is selling at near cost, or less. To each his own there. Troyer is selling the unit for the "standard" markup. Nothing outrageous about his pricing.

I don't mind saving a buck or two, I'm not "too" foolish! But when folks like Mike Troyer take so much of their time to talk to everyone, and respond to endless posts and emails, they are EARNING your business.

They are in constant developement for systems such as MicroTuners and fan kits for the F-150. They also go through the steps such as dyno testing these parts to see what works and what doesn't. He makes sure we don't indulge in "snake oil" mods. Not many companies will do that. They will sell you whatever you want, and pass the "snake oil" on to you from the manufacturer.

Sound silly? Okay. No problem.

I'll spend a little more with Troyer and know that company is my one stop shop for parts AND support for my F-150. I've nickeled and dimed before and have regretted it. Some times the best deals aren't all they are cracked up to be. That being said, if the Magnaflow from Full Line is an original system, and it seems to be, then great deal! Just wanted to pass along my reasoning for paying more. And...I'd do it again.

Thanks for the feeback. I also wanted to give Mike the business but couldn't see paying such a difference in price. Hope you are enjoying your system as much as I am mine. Even if my tip is smaller.

Storm, can you take a few more pictures of your tip? From full side profile, from full rear, and from the angle that looks right into the tailpipe. TIA.

Storm,

You sound like a proud new dad. Congrats on the purchase and the install. It looks great. I was going to go throught Full Line, but then I got broke. Now I have to wait until tax season to get mine.

For those that are looking for a dual, Full Line also has the dual magnaflow out the back for about $340. Just an FYI.

I took these when it just started to get dark out so they kind of... suck.

I took some sound clips but they sound like crap and don't do it any justice. I will retry with better equipment and will post if they come out good.
